Frequently Asked Questions
Questions Deserve Clear Answers.
Practical details about beginning therapy, privacy, scheduling, payment, and the way we may work together.
What can I expect during our first session?+
Think of our first session as a high-level consultation. We'll dive straight into what's currently standing in your way. We will discuss your history, but our primary focus will be on your current “pain points”—whether that's burnout, high-stakes decision fatigue, or the isolation that often comes with work demands and leadership. By the end of the hour, we will have a preliminary roadmap for our work together.
How does the intake process go?+
It is simple. Upon scheduling the first session, you will receive two forms to sign and send back: 1) A one-page Informed Consent and 2) a two-page Intake Form. During the first encounter, I will collect the remaining data pertaining to your psychobiosocial profile. You will have an internal personal chart and direct access to your digital portal in my HIPAA-compliant practice platform.
How do you handle privacy and discretion?+
Anonymity is paramount. My practice is fully HIPAA-compliant, and I utilize secure, encrypted platforms for all digital communication and billing. Whether we meet at my Southwest Austin location or via a secure telehealth link, your professional reputation and personal privacy are protected by the highest legal and ethical standards.
How do we manage appointments?+
I work specifically with high-impact professionals and understand that “9 to 5” doesn't always exist in your world. I offer a streamlined online portal for easy scheduling and rescheduling. While I do have a 24-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy to maintain the integrity of the practice, I strive to offer flexibility where possible to ensure your mental health support remains a consistent part of your routine.
What is your therapeutic style for leaders and professionals?+
My approach is collaborative and direct. While traditional therapy often focuses solely on the “what,” I integrate a “why” and “how-to” framework. We will look at the root causes of your stress, but we will also develop tactical tools for emotional regulation, assertive communication, boundary setting, and cognitive resilience that you can apply in the boardroom or at home immediately.
How long will the therapeutic process last?+
The duration of our work together is highly individualized and depends on your specific goals and the complexity of the challenges we are addressing. My clinical approach is designed to be efficient; many clients find that short-term therapy (approximately 8 to 12 sessions) is effective for addressing immediate hurdles or specific skill-building. Others may find that extended therapy is necessary to navigate deeper, long-standing patterns. While I cannot predict the exact length of the process or guarantee a specific outcome, my ultimate goal is to help you move toward self-reliance and sufficiency.
How do you handle crises?+
My practice is specifically designed for high-functioning individuals navigating mild-to-moderate emotional, behavioral, and social constraints. My office is not equipped to provide emergency psychiatric services or intensive crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency or a mental health crisis, please do not wait for a scheduled session. You should immediately call 911, dial or text the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
What are your fees and payment options?+
Individual counseling is $210 for 50–60 minutes. Group counseling is $110 per person for each 90-minute session. The 15-minute consultation is free. The practice is private pay; monthly superbills are available on request for possible out-of-network reimbursement or HSA use.
Can we meet online or in person?+
Yes. In-person sessions are available at FUSE WorkSpace in Southwest Austin. Secure telehealth is available anywhere in Texas. Your location at the time of a therapy session must be within Texas.
In which languages can we work together?+
Sessions are available in fluent English, Spanish, or Portuguese. You are welcome to choose the language in which reflection and expression feel most natural.
A thoughtful first step
You do not Have to Keep Carrying This Alone.
A free 15-minute consultation is a focused, private conversation about what is bringing you here and whether we may work well together.
