Therapy in the Language You Feel In
You may speak English all day at work and still find that your feelings live in Spanish. Some memories, prayers and family conversations may only make full sense in the language they happened in. Sessions are available in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and you are welcome to use whichever gives your experience the most room. You can begin in one language and move to another when a subject calls for it. There is no need to translate yourself into a single vocabulary before we can understand each other. If you would like to read about this work in Spanish, visit Terapia en español.
Between Family Expectations and Professional Life
You may be close to your family and deeply grateful for it, and still feel pulled between what they expect and what your career asks of you. Perhaps you are the one who translates, organizes and shows up for everyone. Perhaps success at work has created a distance at home that is hard to name. Holding loyalty and independence at the same time can be tiring, and it can bring guilt that does not belong to you. Therapy offers a private place to sort through those competing pulls, honor what matters to you in both worlds, and decide how you want to carry them.
Culture, Faith and Grief
Grief rarely arrives on its own terms. You may be mourning a parent, a grandparent, or a way of life, while also honoring the rituals and beliefs your family holds. Faith may be a source of comfort, a source of questions, or both at once. Cultural traditions around loss can support you, and they can also leave little room for the feelings that do not fit. In our work, your beliefs and traditions are part of the conversation, not something to set aside. We can make space for the love and the loss together. A Therapist Who Has Lived Between Cultures
I am originally from Venezuela and have moved internationally five times, living in seven cities across several countries. I know from experience what it means to adapt, to miss home, and to hold more than one culture inside yourself. That history shapes how I listen. I pay attention to language, family meanings and the quiet expectations that come with belonging to more than one world. You will not need to explain why these things matter. You can read more about my background and path to this work on the About page before deciding whether we may be a good fit.
Sessions by Video From San Antonio
There is no San Antonio office. All sessions take place by secure video on HIPAA-compliant platforms, and you must be located in Texas for each session, since my license covers Texas only. The only office is at FUSE WorkSpace, 13341 W Hwy 290, Austin, TX 78737, where you are welcome to meet in person if you are ever in Austin. Sessions are 50 to 60 minutes and $210, with hours Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 8:00pm, and evenings Monday to Thursday. A private room and headphones help protect the hour. Everything begins with a free 15-minute consultation, in the language you prefer.
