Therapy Without Crossing the City
Houston is a large, spread-out city, and sometimes the hardest part of starting therapy is not the decision but the drive. Traffic alone can turn one appointment into half an afternoon, and that can be reason enough to keep putting it off. Online sessions remove that barrier. You can meet from a private room at home, or from a closed office between commitments, without losing time to freeways and parking. The session itself is the same 50 to 60 minutes of focused, attentive conversation it would be in person. What changes is how much of your week it asks for, and how easily you can keep showing up.
Long Hours and Unpredictable Weeks
You may work in energy, medicine, engineering or another field where the schedule belongs partly to someone else. Shifts change, projects run late, and a quiet week can turn demanding without warning. Sessions are available Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 8:00pm, with evening appointments Monday to Thursday, which can make it easier to protect an hour after the workday. When plans shift, the cancellation policy asks for 24 hours' notice to avoid a $90 late fee. That notice helps keep your time held for you. A consistent rhythm, even an imperfect one, gives the work room to deepen over time.
The Weight of Being Responsible
When your role involves safety, budgets, patients or teams, responsibility can follow you home. You may be the steady one at work and still lie awake running through what could go wrong. You may notice irritability, fatigue, or a sense that rest no longer restores you. These are signals worth attending to, not weaknesses to push through. Therapy offers a private place to look at what the pressure is costing you and how it connects to older patterns of carrying more than your share. You can read more about burnout and leadership stress, and how we might approach it together, before deciding whether to reach out.
A City of Many Languages
You may think in English at work and feel most like yourself in Spanish or Portuguese at home. Sessions are available in all three languages, and you do not need to choose one for good. Some memories and relationships are easier to describe in the language they happened in, and moving between languages during a session is welcome. I am originally from Venezuela and have lived in several countries, so the experience of living between cultures is familiar ground. If language matters to how you want to do this work, Therapy in Spanish and Portuguese describes that part of my practice in more detail.
Based in Southwest Austin, Available Across Texas
To be clear, there is no Houston office. The practice has one office, at FUSE WorkSpace, 13341 W Hwy 290, Austin, TX 78737, in Southwest Austin. If you are ever in Austin and would like to meet in person, that is possible, and you can mix in-person and online sessions as it suits you. Otherwise, all of our work takes place by secure video on HIPAA-compliant platforms. You need to be located in Texas during each session, since my license covers Texas only. A private room and headphones help protect the hour wherever you are. For more on how telehealth works statewide, see Online Therapy Across Texas.
