Around Lake Travis
Life around Lake Travis has its own rhythm: open water, wide skies, evenings that look like a postcard. It can be disorienting when the pace inside you does not match that view. You may be surrounded by space and beauty while your mind races through tomorrow's calendar, or feel oddly flat in a setting that is supposed to feel restful. That mismatch is worth taking seriously. It is not ingratitude, and it does not mean something is wrong with you. It may mean some part of your life is asking for attention. Therapy offers a place to listen to it, with curiosity instead of judgment, before it grows louder.
Telehealth on the Busy Weeks
On busy weeks, telehealth may be the most practical way to keep showing up for yourself. Sessions take place over secure, HIPAA-compliant video, and you must be located in Texas during each one. A few simple things help: a private room with the door closed, headphones so the conversation stays yours, and a few quiet minutes before we begin so you are not stepping directly from a meeting into the session. A glass of water and a silenced phone help too. Video sessions can hold real depth when the setting supports it. We can talk about what helps the hour feel grounded for you.
A Room Outside Your Home
Sometimes home is exactly the wrong place to talk. If others are nearby, or if home is where the stress lives, meeting in person can offer relief. The office is at FUSE WorkSpace, 13341 W Hwy 290, in Southwest Austin. It is a private, quiet room with easy parking, a neutral setting that belongs to neither your work nor your household. Coming in person can give the hour a clear beginning and end, and the trip itself can become a way of setting the week aside. You can choose in-person sessions regularly, occasionally, or only when a particular conversation calls for a different kind of room.
Many Chapters, One Life
You may be in the thick of mid-career pressure, weighing a change you cannot quite name. You may be running your own company and wondering what it is costing you. Or you may be approaching retirement, facing the unexpected question of who you are once the title and the calendar fall away. Each chapter carries its own mix of hope and loss. Therapy can help you move through career and life transitions with more clarity, and make room for grief when a change means letting go of a role, a place, or a person. I work with adults and seniors, including those 65 and older.
How We Work Together
My style is collaborative, direct, and semi-structured. We pay attention to what is happening now while making sense of the history and patterns behind it, and you may take a reflection or practice into the week between sessions. Depending on what you need, our work may draw on CBT, problem-solving therapy, DBT-informed skills, IFS-informed work, and psychodynamic, existential, or attachment-focused therapy, along with schema work, somatic awareness, and mindfulness. Therapy is not a quick answer. It is a thoughtful, psychologically sophisticated space. Sessions are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, in person or by video anywhere in Texas. From coping to clarity. From patterns to possibility.
